This page explains the rules for parking control fees ("control fees") in resident parking areas. If you received a fee, you can read here what it means and how to pay or appeal. Administrators can use this as the official reference for how control fees are applied.
Requirements in your country
Control fees on private resident parking areas are issued in accordance with Danish contract law. By parking in a signed private area you accept the posted rules (quasi-contract). Public road parking is regulated by the Road Traffic Act. The following laws apply in Denmark:
- Aftaleloven (Danish Contracts Act) — Consolidation Act No. 600 of 8 September 1986 — contract formation; basis for control fees on private property.
- Færdselsloven (Road Traffic Act) — Consolidation Act — traffic and parking on public roads.

What is a control fee?
A control fee is a charge issued when a vehicle is parked in a resident parking area without complying with the rules.
- It is a fee for non-compliance with the parking regulations of the area (e.g. no valid resident or guest permit, wrong zone, or expired guest period).
- The amount you must pay is shown on your ticket. The fee is set by the organisation that manages the parking (your building or area administrator).
When can a control fee be issued?
A controller may issue a control fee when:
- The vehicle is parked in a resident parking zone without a valid resident or guest registration for that zone.
- The vehicle is parked in a zone or space where it is not permitted (e.g. outside the registered zone).
- A guest permit has expired or the vehicle is not registered as a guest for the relevant period.
- The vehicle otherwise violates the parking rules that apply to the area (as defined by the administrator).
How to pay
To pay a control fee:
- Use "Pay ticket" in the menu or go to the ticket lookup page. Enter your license plate or ticket ID to find your ticket and pay online.
- Pay by the deadline stated on your ticket if one is given. Late payment may result in additional charges or collection, as stated by the operator.
- If your ticket is marked overdue, pay as soon as possible to avoid further consequences.
Disputing a fee
If you believe a fee was issued by mistake:
- Contact the administrator of the parking area (the organisation or contact given on the ticket or on this website). Explain your case and provide your ticket number and license plate.
- The administrator will review your case. Until the dispute is resolved, the fee may still be due; the administrator can cancel or adjust it if the issue was issued in error.
For administrators
This section is the reference for how control fees are defined and applied in this system:
- Controllers issue control fees according to the parking rules and fee settings configured for each tenant. Only authorised controllers (and admins) can issue fees.
- Fee amounts, currencies, and any zone or time rules are configured in admin settings per tenant. The rules on this page are the ones that apply to fee recipients; keep tenant-specific rules consistent with what is stated here.
